I hope you are safe and sane. Unless you live on a different planet, I pretty much know what you did this Summer: stay home. I've stayed home, too, and since I am unable to safely perform in public, I've spent my entire summer singing songs in The Pandemic Houseguy Show.
American Songwriter Magazine called the Pandemic Houseguy Shows "as compelling as his live shows always have been." With episode #6 ready to be released this Saturday, I thought you might enjoy seeing some highlights and lowlights from Episodes 1 thru 5.
If you need to catch up, you can see the first five episodes here:
I shoot every shot with iMovie on my phone. After five episodes, I've learned a lot. For instance, in episode #1, I didn't know I could move that album cover off my face!
In the shot below, I managed to make a split screen, but I didn't know how to line up shot #2. I completely missed me singing the backups. I decided to leave it, as if I meant to do it!
One of my favorite early bits was strutting through my kitchen to "Sweet Jane." YouTube later removed "Sweet Jane" from the video, citing copyright, so in some versions of Episode 1, I'm just a dork strutting through his kitchen with no music.
In Episode #2, special guest Kyle Vincent sang "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight"...
...only to be interrupted by a sales pitch for MuVinin, a quarantine anxiety medication inspired by the song's weird pronunciation of "movin' in."
In episode #3 we meet Willie Ray Honeycutt III. Willie says he's real close friends with "Huk." He teaches guitar in his garage next door, but his real mission in life appears to be annoying Hux.
Future Hux is still doing the PH Show in 2032. He's down to covering songs by Andy Kim, which turns out to be more fun that he thought.
As fun as the comedy bits are, let's not forget the music. Through five shows, I've performed all or part of 33 songs.
Pandemic Houseguy Show #6 comes out this Saturday! Thanks for watching and thanks to those who've been kind enough to contribute via the PayPal link on each YouTube video.
